Orly Bendavid

Orly Bendavid, founder of Illumind Psychotherapy in Brooklyn, NY, earned her Master’s in Music Therapy from NYU in 2011. She integrates traditional talk therapy with evidence-based therapeutic modalities including EMDR, IFS, and DBT, while incorporating the creative arts whenever possible. Orly’s mission is to help individuals gain insight, build self-connection, and access their own unique mode of expression. She believes that everyone has the innate ability to heal, and her work focuses on helping clients find the voice that guides them toward a safe, supportive, and loving space.

In her private practice, Orly specializes in treating addiction, alcoholism, co-dependency, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, couple counseling, dating challenges, performance anxiety, creative blocks, and grief counseling. She is particularly passionate about supporting clients through substance use recovery and addressing barriers to lasting change, and she is well-versed in 12-step recovery language.

Beyond her therapy practice, Orly’s personal artwork explores themes of grief, healing, and recovery from substance abuse, reflecting the heart of her therapeutic approach.
